What is NIHR Research for Social Care?

The NIHR Research for Social Care (RfSC) call is an annual competition specifically for social care proposals, run by NIHR’s Research for Patient Benefit (RfPB) programme.

The aim of the annual RfSC call is to fund topics and research methodologies that increase the effectiveness of social care services, provide value for money and benefit service users and carers.

Purpose of the day

  • To learn about current issues in social care today
  • To bring researchers, users, commissioners, providers of social care and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) organisations together, to focus on how we can work together to support the development of social care research in the South Central and Wessex regions.
  • To learn about the funding available from NIHR for social care research
  • An opportunity to network with people with shared interests in the social care arena within the South Central and Wessex regions.

Who should attend?

  • Social care practitioners
  • Researchers working in the social care field or the interface between health and social care
  • Health professionals working in the social care field or interface between health and social care
  • Users of social care or care at the interface of health and social care
  • Commissioners and providers of social care and care at the interface of health and social care

For the purposes of this event, “South Central” includes Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight & Wessex.
