Isabel is a Senior Medical Statistician for the Research Design Service South Central.

She completed an MSc in Statistics with Applications in Medicine (Distinction) at Southampton University in 1997, and went on to work at the Medical Research Council Environmental Epidemiology Unit in Southampton for 10 years. Her work experience there was mainly in analysis of epidemiological studies. She was also involved in teaching epidemiology to MSc statistics students and has supervised their end of year projects. She was a statistical reviewer for a variety of medical journals.

Isabel gained her PhD in 2003 and this explored the methodology and application of cluster analysis techniques in the classification of common musculoskeletal disorders of the neck and arm.
