Gill is based on the Isle of Wight and started working at the David Hide Asthma & Allergy Research Centre in 1996 as Administrator for the IW Research & Development Support Unit. She continued in this role until the IW RDSU merged with Portsmouth.  Gill then became the Research Study Coordinator for the Food Allergy & Intolerance Research Study in 2001 and the follow up of this study in 2009.  She has, also, been administrator for the Putting Evidence into Practice programme run by the University of Portsmouth (2008-2010) and provided administrative support on various other research projects.
